How to Order Prints & Canvases
Shortly, I will be adding a PayPal shopping cart to my website. In the interim, purchasing is very easy. Just contact me either via email or mobile (61 403 773 678), outlining which print/s you would like to purchase. I will need to know the photograph's title, what size you would like, and whether you prefer to receive your print on archival fine art paper, or canvas. If you would also like to discuss having your print custom framed or mounted, or your canvas stretched, I am more than happy to provide further details and obtain a quote for you.
The Finer Details (Processes, Paper, Printing)
As opposed to photographic processes, giclee fine art prints are produced using high-quality archival pigment inks on acid free, archival fine art papers and canvases, using a high-resolution large format inkjet printer, to produce beautiful images that have smooth rich tones and colours.
Your art will be printed on one of several fine art papers – Museo Silver Rag, Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk, Hahnemuehle Photo Rag or Hahnemuehle William Turner. These are amongst the very best fine art papers available. If you have a particular preference, I am more than happy to discuss this with you, otherwise I will choose the paper that I feel best suits your image selection.
Alternatively, your print will arrive on archival quality canvas, ready for stretching. This is a 4th generation 430gsm highly flexible canvas, with a brilliant neutral white surface and a US-made acid-free archival base.
New North Gallery and Fine Art Photographic Printing in Melbourne will be responsible for printing your art. Michael Silver and David Johns are professional photographers with a lifetime of experience in the industry, and a wealth of technical knowledge and skill behind them. Michael has a passion for large format printing. Using the latest and the best equipment and materials available, his emphasis is on producing the very highest quality result - giving you stunning prints that will last a lifetime. I have an enormous amount of respect for Michael, both for his integrity and for the considerable amount of charity work that he does.
Finishing
Regardless of whether you choose paper or canvas, your fine art print will come spray-laminated, using a highly flexible protective coating. The laminate is water-based, UV blocking, scratch-resistant, anti-fungal and ultra-clear.
Canvas Stretching, Dibond Mounting and Framing
New North have a close working relationship with Fitzroy Stretches, who offer an archival canvas stretching, mounting and custom framing service of exceptional quality. I am offering this additional service, and will be including more detailed information regarding these options on this website, sometime in January. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.
