"Art is magic... But how is it magic? In its metaphysical development? Or does some final transformation culminate in a magic reality? In truth, the latter is impossible without the former. If creation is not magic, the outcome cannot be magic." ~Hans Hofmann (1880–1966)
Hello & welcome to my new website. It's still very much a work in progress. I'm gradually moving my complete portfolio across from the old website, which in the interim, can still be found
here. I will eventually be closing that site down. It's time to move on... I love my new home here. And I hope you will too.
Originally a North Queensland native, I am a Melbourne-based fine art & equine photographer with a passion for creating textured, vintage inspired imagery. I am most passionate about photography, art, heritage architecture, antiquities, all things vintage, inspirational quotations & poetry, writing, animals, nature, spirituality, metaphysics & science. As the gifted and insightful William Shakespeare once wrote -
"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." I'm self-taught, and would by no means consider myself to be a technical photographer. Honestly, I just don't get the technical stuff. At all. I guess I just wasn't made that way. It used to do my head in. So I gave up long ago trying to make sense of it all. I decided it was simply better just go with what comes most naturally. Best thing I ever did. I will happily lose myself for hours on end playing in my digital darkroom, exploring colour and texture, with the end result being (hopefully), the creation of an ever expanding portfolio of images that evokes a sense of times long past. I guess my aim is simply to create work that uplifts. Inspires. Touches the soul. Even just one. What could possibly be more deeply rewarding or spiritually fulfilling than that? Of course, whether I succeed or not, is always going to be open to debate. You get to decide. But if I can achieve that at least, then mission accomplished.
If you would like to have your very own customised, vintage style artwork or series of artworks created, perhaps of yourself and your own beloved equine companion, your club event, or team get together, or just about anything else you can think of, I would love to talk to you. Please contact me to discuss.
To anyone who does happen to buy my work, a great big thank you is coming your way. I sincerely appreciate it. And I hope you enjoy your new art as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask, or even if you just wanna say hi – please feel free to drop me a line any time. I'm never more than an email, a phone call or a text message away.
Love & light
