"Art is magic... But how is it magic? In its metaphysical development? Or does some final transformation culminate in a magic reality? In truth, the latter is impossible without the former. If creation is not magic, the outcome cannot be magic." ~Hans Hofmann (1880–1966)

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I am a fine art photographer and photographic artist based in Melbourne, Australia. I have a particular passion for heritage architecture and all things old.

I'm self-taught, and would by no means consider myself to be a technical photographer. Honestly, I just don't get the technical stuff. At all. I guess I just wasn't made that way. I gave up long ago trying to make sense of it all. And I decided just to let go and simply do what comes most naturally. Best thing I ever did. I will happily lose myself for hours on end playing in my digital darkroom, exploring colour and texture, with the end result being (hopefully), the creation of an ever expanding portfolio of images that evokes a sense of times long past. I feel such an overwhelmingly strong pull in that direction, stronger than anything I could possibly put into words.

To create. To inspire. To touch a soul. Even just one. What could possibly be more deeply rewarding or spiritually fulfilling than that? That's my aim - but of course, whether I succeed or not, is always going to be open to debate. You get to decide.

Increasingly over the past few years, my passion for all things metaphysical has overtaken even my love for photography. Photography is how I choose to express myself creatively - but for me it is not all-consuming. Rather, it is a tool - albeit an important one - but simply one aspect of something that is so much bigger. Sometimes I get the very strong sense that what is being created is not coming from me, but through me. This is something I have become increasingly aware of over the last few years. There are a number of series in my portfolio that I can honestly say I feel a distinct 'disconnect' with - as if I'm not actually looking at my own work. I am truly grateful to whomever it is I seem to be collaborating with. As the very gifted and insightful William Shakespeare once wrote - "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." Or, as the brilliant Eckhart Tolle (The Power of Now) writes - "There are countless beings whose consciousness frequency is so different from yours that you are probably unaware of their existence as they are of yours." The very idea of such a notion excites me immensely. It opens up endless possibilities.

If you would like to have your very own customised, vintage style artwork or series of artworks created, perhaps of yourself and your own beloved equine companion, your club event, or team get together, or just about anything else you can think of, I would love to talk to you. Please contact me to discuss.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask, or even if you just feel like saying hi – please feel free to drop me a line any time. To anyone who purchases my art, thank you. I sincerely hope that you enjoy it every bit as much as I have enjoyed creating it.

Love & light
