All the fun of the fair! This wonderful ride is called a Wave Swinger. This collection is part of a series of photographs taken at the Royal Melbourne Show, and is one of my personal favourites. St Kilda is one of Melbourne's more famous seaside suburbs. Cafes, restaurants, gentle strolls along the pier, Sunday markets on the foreshore. Popular with locals and tourists alike. Weekends in summer are abuzz with activity. This beautiful old carousel is an original, and is one of the many attractions at Luna Park, on St Kilda's foreshore. It has all the grace and charm of times long past.

This collection has been created from original film work that I did when I was living in the UK, way back in 1989-1990. Nineteen years later, I decided to scan some of the images and have a bit of a play around with them. This is the result. I have such wonderful and precious memories of my time there, and I would give anything to go back again someday. :)

Australia's beautiful island state of Tasmania, otherwise known as 'The Apple Isle'. It's a wonderful place to explore. If you are interested in history, architecture, antiques, nature, wildlife, stunning landscapes, cosy and romantic b&b's, fresh produce and fine wine, then I suggest you go for a visit sometime. Experience it for yourself. I fell head over heels in love with Tasmania while I was there a few years ago. And I just can't wait to get back there again. This place has a special magic that is all its very own. I think I could stay forever.

Tall Ships Sail Parade. Australia Day. Port Phillip Bay. The Melbourne city skyline as the backdrop. Alma Doepel, Young Endeavour, Enterprize, and Windeward Bound. The graceful old Alma Doepel (front ship #2) is an original, built in 1903. The other three ships are all replicas. Windeward Bound is the pride of Tasmania. With the creation of this series, I was attempting to evoke a sense of time and place - long, long ago, and far, far away.
